Arrangement guide
How to fit faux stems to your vase
Measure your vase from the base to the rim. Stems about 2.5 to 3 times that height let the arrangement rise 1.5 to 2 times the vase above the rim. Then pick the number of stems for the size and opening of the vase.
Measure the vase
Measure from the base to the rim. Stem lengths include the part inside the vase, so a 10 in (25 cm) vase takes 23.5 to 29.5 in (60 to 75 cm) stems.
Choose the stem length
The stems in the table below come in one length each, except the ficus branches: 12 in (30 cm) for The Silk Rose Stem Set, 13 in (33 cm) for The Gilded Berry Stem and 20 in (50 cm) for The Silk Peony Stem Trio. The Ficus Branch Study comes in 30, 43 or 55 in (76, 110 or 140 cm). The table shows the vase heights each one suits.
Choose how many stems
Start with 3 to 5 stems for a vase under 8 in (20 cm), 5 to 8 for 8 to 12 in (20 to 30 cm) and 5 to 7 branches above 12 in (30 cm). Wider openings need more stems, narrow ones fewer.
Smaller or taller vases
The shortest stems and bouquets in the table are about 12 in (30 cm), made for vases about 4 to 5 in (10 to 12 cm) tall. You can trim them with wire cutters for a smaller vase, but cut stems can't be returned. The tallest are the 55 in (140 cm) ficus branches, made for vases up to 22 in (56 cm); in a taller vase they sit a little lower than usual.
Arrange it, step by step
- Unfold and bend. Stems arrive folded. Straighten each one, bend the lower section to angle it in the vase, then open the smaller branches.
- Build a loose framework. Start with your tallest stem, slightly off-center, and add two more at different angles. Leave space between them.
- Find a focal point. Place the fullest flower a little lower than the tallest stem and turn each face slightly toward the room.
- Let the stems breathe. Spread the rest loosely, then rotate the vase and check it from every side.
- Bend before you cut. Fold the lower stem to test the height. Once you love it, trim with wire cutters. Cutting is permanent and cut stems can't be returned.
Complete bouquets
The Crochet Sunflower Bouquet and The Crochet Daisy and Sunflower Bouquet arrive finished, ready for a vase: 1 sunflower, 2 daisies, 1 pink flower and green leaves in a paper wrap in the first, or 1 sunflower, 4 daisies and eucalyptus greenery in the second. Both are crocheted from yarn and about 12 in (30 cm) tall. See the bouquets
Factoring in arrangement width
Vase height is only one part of the fit; you also need to allow room for the spread. The Crochet Sunflower Bouquet is 5.5 in (14 cm) wide, so it suits a narrow opening. The ficus branches come as 1 branch at 30 in (76 cm), 2 at 43 in (110 cm) or 3 at 55 in (140 cm); shape the stems by hand to open a branch up for a wide opening or keep it narrow for a tight vase. Leave enough tabletop or shelf clearance so foliage does not brush walls.
Cleaning and placing indoor botanicals
All stems are designed for indoor display only. Place your arrangement away from prolonged direct sunlight, heat sources, and damp rooms. To keep leaves and petals looking clean, dust them regularly with a soft dry brush or a clean microfiber cloth. Stems with real-touch coated petals can also be wiped with a barely damp cloth. Never submerge stems in water, do not use steam, and avoid applying solvents or chemical cleaning sprays to botanical silk or coated surfaces.
Delivery, testing and returns
Delivery to the US and the EU is $6.95, or free over $49. It is $11.95 to the UK and $19.95 to Canada. The delivery time for your country shows on each product page and at checkout.
You can gently bend the internal wire cores to adjust how stems sit in your vessel before deciding on any final trimming. You can request a return within 30 days of delivery under our delivery and returns policy. Return shipping is paid by you, unless an item arrived damaged or incorrect, and cut stems cannot be returned.

How many stems do I need?

Is a vase included?
No. Stems and complete bouquets come without a vase, ready for your own.
