The Bendable Pine Christmas Garland

What this garland is

This is an artificial pine garland for Christmas decorating. The foliage is made of PP, a durable plastic that holds its shape season after season. Inside runs a bendable wire core, so the garland bends and stays where you put it. That makes it easy to wrap a stair rail, drape a mantel or frame a doorway.

At one end there is a loop tie. Use it to hook the garland onto a nail, a hook or a rail, then shape the rest of the length by hand. The branches fluff out with a light touch, and you can push them back down when you store it.

Sizes

Three lengths are available. Pick the one that fits your space.

If you are not sure, measure the space first and add a little extra for draping. Two shorter garlands can be shaped together for a fuller look on a long rail.

Where to use it

This garland works in many spots around the home.

• Staircase: run it along the handrail and tie it at the newel post. The wire core holds the curve of the rail.
• Mantel: lay it across the shelf and let the ends hang down on both sides.
• Doorway: drape it over the top corner and down one side for a simple frame.
• Table: lay a short length down the center as a base for candles or a bowl.
• Porch or patio: use it on a covered rail or around a post, away from direct rain.

You can also pair it with a wreath on the door or a small tree nearby for a matching look.

How to shape and hang it

1. Take the garland out of the box and hold it by the loop tie.
2. Hang the loop on a hook, nail or rail.
3. Work from the tied end to the loose end. Bend the wire core to follow the surface.
4. Spread the branches with your fingers. Pull some forward and some back for a fuller shape.
5. Step back and check the line. Adjust any flat spots by bending the core again.

For a stair rail, start at the bottom and work up so the loop sits where you want it. For a mantel, center the garland first, then shape the two ends.

If you want a fuller look, use two garlands side by side and twist the wire cores together at the ends. The loop tie on each one gives you a fixed point to work from.

Care and storage

Dust the garland with a soft cloth or a brush with soft bristles. A hair dryer on cool and low can also lift dust from the branches. Do not use water, harsh cleaners or heat on the PP foliage.

When the season ends, shape the branches back toward the core and coil the garland loosely. Store it in a box or bag in a dry, cool place. Keep it away from heavy items that could crush the wire core. With simple care, it can come out again next year ready to shape.

What to know before you buy

This is an artificial garland, not a live plant. Color may look slightly different from screen to screen. If you plan to use it outdoors, choose a covered spot so rain and direct sun do not wear the foliage.
