What this garland is

The Tinsel Cascade Garland is a strand of plastic tinsel built on a bendable wire core. The tinsel strands are packed densely, so the garland reads as full and fluffy rather than thin or sparse. The wire inside holds whatever shape you bend it into, which makes it easy to drape, loop and wrap.

It is a decoration piece for indoor use. You can run it along a staircase rail, wind it through a tree, or lay it across a mantel. Because the core is wire, the garland stays where you put it instead of sliding out of place.

Sizes and pack options

Lengths are listed in feet first, with the metric value in brackets. Each option pairs a color with a length and a strip count.

Color Length Strips
White 6.6 ft (2 m) 1 strip
White 19.7 ft (6 m) 3 strips
White 32.8 ft (10 m) 5 strips
White 65.6 ft (20 m) 10 strips
Black 6.6 ft (2 m) 1 strip
Black 19.7 ft (6 m) 3 strips
Black 32.8 ft (10 m) 5 strips
Black 65.6 ft (20 m) 10 strips

A single strip is a good starting point for a small tree or a short rail section. The multi-strip packs suit longer runs, such as a full staircase or several rooms, and they keep the look consistent because every strip matches.

Colors

White tinsel gives a bright, snowy look that works with light ornaments and pale ribbon. Black tinsel gives a deeper, more graphic look that stands out against white walls, light wood and neutral decor. Both colors use the same plastic tinsel and the same bendable wire core, so the choice is only about the look you want.

If you are mixing the garland with other decorations, pick the color that matches your tree or wreath base. White blends into a flocked tree. Black reads as a deliberate contrast on a green tree or a plain staircase.

How to use it

Unroll the strip and let it relax for a moment before you place it. The tinsel strands fluff out as the garland opens up.

For a staircase, start at the bottom of the rail and work upward. Wrap the garland around the rail in loose, even loops, then bend the wire at each end to hold the position. Space the loops so the tinsel overlaps slightly. That keeps the rail covered without hiding the handrail.

For a tree, wind the garland from the top down in a spiral. Keep the turns wide enough that the tinsel sits on the outer branches. You can tuck the wire ends into the branches to anchor them.

For a mantel, shelf or doorway, drape the garland in soft swags and bend the wire at each swag point. The wire holds the curve. You can also double the garland back on itself for a thicker run.

To join two strips, twist the wire ends together and fold the tinsel over the joint so it disappears into the strand.

Care and storage

This garland is for indoor use. Keep it away from open flames, heaters and other direct heat sources.

Dust it with a soft dry cloth or a light brush. Do not soak it or machine wash it. If the tinsel flattens after a season, shake the strip out and run your fingers along the length to lift the strands.

When the season ends, coil each strip loosely around your hand and secure the ends. Store the coils flat in a box or bag, away from heavy items that could crush the tinsel. Stored this way, the wire core keeps its shape and the garland is ready to unroll next year.

Questions

Is the garland bendable, or does it hold a fixed shape?

It holds a shape. A bendable wire runs through the core, so you can curve, loop and wrap the garland, and it stays where you put it.

Can I use this garland on a staircase railing?

Yes. Wrap it around the rail in loose, even loops and bend the wire at each end to hold it in place. The wire core keeps the garland from sliding.

What lengths and colors can I choose from?

It comes in white and black, in 6.6 ft (2 m), 19.7 ft (6 m), 32.8 ft (10 m) and 65.6 ft (20 m) lengths. Each option is sold as 1, 3, 5 or 10 strips.

Can I use it outdoors?

It is made for indoor use. Keep it inside, away from open flames, heaters and direct heat.
